Some of you may know that I belong to a Dallas art collective called artlovemagic. The group has been in existence for a couple of years now, and their shows and offerings just keep getting better and better, really showcasing the depth and breadth of talent we have her in the DFW Metroplex.

This past weekend, artlovemagic had its first Artists' Workshop event, featuring many different opportunities for us creative types to increase our artistic knowledge. Even grizzled veterans like myself learned some great stuff.

Creative people of ALL types are welcomed. Writers, painters, musicians, comic artists, sculptors, whatever. Even those who just want to help organize.

My own experience with the group has been wonderful and creatively expanding. It's often hard for us to create in solitary confinement; also hard to reach out to a community... but so worth it when you find the right people.
